Avanti Tennis Policies

Our mission is to offer professional coaching for players of all ages, genders, and levels, in a safe, fun, and educational environment at the East Camberwell Tennis Club. As Head Coach, my goal is to equip players with the skills to enjoy and succeed in tennis—a skill for life.

Coaching policies

Enrolment form

As a new client, please complete the Enrolment Form, including your child’s name, contact details, and important medical information (allergies, injuries, or other conditions). Forms are available in both hard copy and electronic format.

Lesson payment policy

• Group coaching: Payment details will be sent once your child’s class day and time are confirmed. Payment is due by the third week of term.
• Private lessons: Payment is due by the third week of term. If you need to arrange a different payment plan, please contact David Close on 0425 878 337.

Make-up, wet weather and hot weather policy

• Group lessons: If the weather affects a class, an Avanti Tennis coach will contact you about cancellations and offer make-up class options. Please confirm attendance for make-up sessions. In winter conditions, if you don’t receive a message saying the lesson is cancelled, please presume that the lesson will proceed.
• Hot weather: If it reaches 36 degrees, lessons will be cancelled or rearranged.
• Private lessons: Like group lessons, cancellations are weather-dependent.
• Cancellation: 12–24 hours’ notice is required for lesson cancellations. No fee will apply with adequate notice; otherwise, a fee will be charged.

On-court coaching

At Avanti Tennis, we pride ourselves on offering up-to-date coaching methods. Occasionally, we use video analysis to help players improve. Videos are shared via the Tennis Australia Coaching App and stored on a central device for up to 6 months. Parents may request video deletion or forwarding. If you are not comfortable with this, please let us know.

Safety

The safety of our players is a top priority. All coaches are fully vetted, insured, and comply with 2026 guidelines. During coaching, players may occasionally be close to others or equipment. Coaches may need to guide players to safer positions, which might involve brief contact. Before demonstrating or assisting with a shot, we will always ask for the player’s permission. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate toreach out.
